INTERVIEW
WITH SNEEZLE (Part 1)
by Wendy Froud and Terri Windling

Sneezle!

INTERVIEWER:
I'm very pleased to meet you, young man. Tell me, are you really a faery?
I always thought faeries were tiny maidens with butterfly wings.
SNEEZLE:
Oh no, faeries come in all shapes and sizes. Big and small. Fair and
furry. I'm a tree root faery, you see.
|
| INTERVIEWER:
And you're quite a young faery, aren't you?
SNEEZLE:
Well, I'm almost 200 years old! But that's not very old for a faery.
|
| INTERVIEWER:
How do you feel about having a book written about you?
SNEEZLE:
Great! Except I'm not exactly sure what a "book" is.
INTERVIEWER:
I understand that the book will tell the tale of how you save the faery court
of Old Oak Wood. Can you tell us more about that?
|
|
| SNEEZLE:
Oh no! It's a secret. Twig would get in trouble if I told. |
| INTERVIEWER:
Twig? Who's Twig?
SNEEZLE:
Twig is my best friend. She's a hand-maiden-in-training to Titania.
But her wings are always getting crumpled up, and that's how my whole adventure
started.
INTERVIEWER:
The one in which you saved the court?
SNEEZLE:
I can't tell you!

| INTERVIEWER:
I see. Let me ask you another question then. Who's Titania?
SNEEZLE:
Everyone knows who Titania is! She's the Faery Queen of Old Oak Wood, and
the lady-love of King Oberon. A wicked sorceress put Titania under a spell
on Midsummer's Night.

INTERVIEWER:
Who's the wicked sorceress?
SNEEZLE:
Oh dear. I'm not supposed to talk about that either.
INTERVIEWER:
Well, Mr. SneezleĆ
SNEEZLE:
That's not my name! My name is Sneezleworth Rootmuster
Rowanberry Boggs, the Seventh. But call me Sneezle.
