INTERVIEW WITH SNEEZLE (Part 2)

INTERVIEWER: Well, Sneezle, soon a lot of human beings are going to read all about your adventure in the new book by Wendy Froud and Terri Windling. What do you think about that?

SNEEZLE: What's a human being?

INTERVIEWER: I'm a human being.

SNEEZLE: Oh. I thought you were a big, hairy troll.

INTERVIEWER: Wendy and Terri are human beings too, of course.

SNEEZLE: Are they? I thought they were faeries. They've spent a lot of time with the faery court. Wendy makes dolls that look just like us, and Terri tells us wonderful stories. I like stories! I like adventures best. I always wanted to have an adventure of my own and now I have.

INTERVIEWER: How do you feel about being a hero?

SNEEZLE: Well, nobody really knows I'm a hero, you see. Except Twig. And Terri. I told her she could write all about what happened to me about the crabby wizard, and three handmaidens, and the sorceress, and the sword Truesight. I told her she could write it all down--as long as she didn't tell the King.

INTERVIEWER: Are you planning on having any more adventures?

SNEEZLE: I promised my Uncle Starbucket that I would try to stay out of trouble. I'm not sure I can. I always seem to slip and fall into trouble head-first. Terri says that's because I'm a trickster and I just can't help it.

INTERVIEWER: A trickster? Is that a special kind of faery?

SNEEZLE:(scratching his head): Terri says it's something from mitha- Ýmitho-Ý

INTERVIEWER: Mythology?

SNEEZLE: That's it! A trickster is a kind of creature who is good and bad all at the same time. Like Puck and Robin Goodfellow--those are faeries who are a lot more famous than me. I don't mean to be bad or get into trouble, but I always mess things up. Wendy says I have to be especially good when I'm on the book signing tour In America.
